My name is Darla Allen. I am a graduate of Gladewater High School, so I hold this district, and its students, near and dear to my heart. I have worked for Gladewater I.S.D. for over 20 years, starting as a bus driver and custodian. I am now Director of Custodians, Director of Food Service, and I am also a CTSBO certified TASBO member. As the custodial director, I strive, along with my custodial staff, to provide a clean, safe and pleasant environment, in which teachers can teach and students can reach their maximum learning potential. Ensuring students are reaching their potential doesn't end with custodial staff. As the food service director, it is important to me, and the food service staff, to provide a variety of appealing and nutritious foods in an environment that is respectful of each student's needs and differences. We want to serve our students with foods they like and accomodate all nutritional need, which is why my door is always open for menu suggestions or general feedback.
